Remainder of CCRCE Schools to Open to Students

CCRCE News:
Monday, May 31, 2021

Premier Rankin and Dr. Strang announced the provincial epidemiology continues to move in the right direction, and the remainder of our CCRCE schools can return to in-person learning.

For Uniacke District, Elmsdale District, Enfield District, Maple Ridge Elementary, Riverside Education Centre, and Hants East Rural High School, all students will return on Thursday, June 3, 2021. There will be no online classes for those students on Tuesday or Wednesday to allow teachers and school-based staff time to prepare the sites to welcome students back on Thursday.

It is wonderful news that we will be able to welcome all CCRCE students back to our schools for in-person learning for the remainder of the school year. If any families are feeling unease, please rest assured that our schools are safe. We will continue the same layered approach to safety that has been in place all year, such as mask use, enhanced cleaning, outside learning and maintaining physical distancing.

The best place for our students’ social-emotional development and well-being is in school. We still have 10% of the school year in front of us, and we look forward to the impact our teachers and school-based staff members can have during this time in your child’s learning journey.
