Four Months.

Ten Books.

One Winner - chosen by our CCRSB junior and senior high students!

Welcome to the seventh annual CCRSB Teen Reader's Choice Award. We have a new look and a new crop of books for you to read!

Ten incredible and contemporary young adult novels have been carefully selected by a committee of frontline CCRSB Library Staff. We have scoured the best of the best and chosen this diverse collection of novels for our students to read and enjoy.

This year's fantastic offerings represent many genres, voices, and worlds.  Each title was selected from the highest regarded fiction published between January 2016 and December 2017.

The nominees are:

  • The Girl Who Drank the Moon by Kelly Barnhill
  • The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas
  • Lily & Dunkin by Donna Gephart
  • The Marrow Thieves by Cherie Dimaline
  • They Mystery of Hollow Places by Rebecca Podos
  • The Reader by Traci Chee
  • The Serpent King by Jeff Zentner
  • The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon
  • They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera
  • When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon.

You may borrow the books from your school library, the public library, or wherever you get your books. Many of these titles have excellent audiobook editions that may be available at your local public library. So read or listen to as many as you like!
