Parents and guardians are advised that Amherst Regional High School is dismissing at this time due to a fire in the boys' washroom which has resulted in a strong odour throughout the school. Walkers are already on their way and buses will be arriving at the school shortly. The Amherst Fire Department responded to the fire alarm and, in conjunction with CCRSB Operations personnel, recommended the dismissal based on the strong odour.

Parents and guardians are advised that the following buses are experiencing delays this afternoon:
- Bus #253, driven by Shannon Landsberg, serving South Colchester Academy and Brookfield Elementary School is running 20-30 minutes behind.
- Bus #210, driven by Lori MacDonald, serving West Pictou Consolidated School and Northumberland Regional High School, is running 20 minutes behind.
A Special Board Meeting of the Chignecto-Central Regional School Board will take place on Thursday, March 31st, beginning at 6:30 pm, in the Central Office board room at 60 Lorne Street, Truro. The meeting will focus on revisions to the governing board's draft By-Laws.
Students from grades 4 to 9, representing schools throughout the Chignecto-Central Regional School Board (CCRSB), will gather at the Truro Campus of the Nova Scotia Community College on May 6 for CCRSB’s Regional Heritage Fair.
