Rally Against Racism

In 2010, the Town of Truro officially proclaimed the last Friday of each May (it's now the last Thursday in May) as “Rally Against Racism Day." From March 21, the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, until Rally Against Racism Day, students at Truro Elementary, Truro Junior High and Cobequid Educational Centre learning about what racism is, anti-racism strategies, equality, respect for others, and acceptance of the things that make us different.

On the last Thursday in May, students from the three schools put learning into action as they Rally Against Racism in a walk from CEC to Victoria Park, Truro.

 

Rally Against Racism Binder

The Rally Against Racism Committee has created this excellent resources for tor teachers and administrators. It includes the Rally guidelines, lesson plans, and links to external and internal resources.
