Grade 4 and 5 students at Shubenacadie District Elementary are participating in a unique extracurricular program: a lunchtime technology club which teaches them computer coding skills, thanks to Nova Scotia Tech Kids. Grade 5 teacher Wendy Jollimore works with the students using software designed to make coding and programming fun and easy for younger students. Students learn the basic skills each program requires and then work on projects to make simple games and animations. Nova Scotia Tech Kids, which began at a school in Halifax, are hoping to branch out across the province!
