West Colchester Consolidated students go Bass Fishing
As part of the Exploratory Program at West Colchester Consolidated School, 35 students from grades 5-9 went Bass fishing! A local weir owner, Mr. Wayne Linkletter, donated all the bait for the day - squid, herring and mackerel - and it was put to good use. Community and parent volunteers leant a helping hand baiting lines, untangling lines and teaching students how to cast. The day was warm and sunny, the tide was relatively calm. The students had lots of nibbles on their lines and three undersized bass were caught and released. A wonderful experience for eveyone involved!
