Hackamatack Book Club
Bible Hill East Court Road Students picking their favourites
The Grade Four students at Bible Hill East Court Road are busy reading up a storm for the annual reading initiative Hackmatack Book Club. The students are reading 20 fiction and nonfiction books by Atlantic Canadian authors and will vote for their favourites by the end of March.
The students will then cast votes along with other participating schools to choose the top authors. The books are supplied each year by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development and will be given to the library when the club is finished in May.
The students meet weekly at lunch time to discuss the books, share their thoughts and opinions about characters, plots and events, as well as participate in a book exchange.
