CCRSB also recognized at Black Educators Association 10th Annual Spelling Bee

CCRSB extends congratulations to Sebastian Barrington, a Grade 7 student at Truro Junior High School, for his recent win at the BEA Annual Regional Educators Program Spelling Bee! Sebastian - who placed third at the Bee in 2014 - spelled the word "hypochondria" to take top spot.

Governing Board Member, Gordon Anderson, accepted the 2016 Diamond Anniversary REP Award of Excellence on behalf of CCRSB at the ceremony in Halifax on May 14th. The Diamond Award was given in recognition of CCRSB's continuing support of the Bee (2007-2016).

BEA’s challenging academic competition which draws up-to-100 spellers annually from across the province was held Saturday at Mount Saint Vincent University (MSVU) in Halifax. The BEE is held in May each year in recognition of the United States-based Scripps National Spelling Bee.
