In mid-December Advocate District School students enjoyed an amazing day hosted by the Discovery Center. The whole school participated in the "Hocus Focus" program, a magic show, where cool tricks were performed and the science behind the "Why" of the tricks was explained.

Grade 8-12 students participated in the program, "Tide to Technology." They listened to the sounds of marine life and learned about different careers that are offered in Nova Scotia related to Marine Science. The students were also able to use technology that allows scientists to pick up materials from the ocean floor.

All students had an opportunity to experience the "Planetarium" and learned how to determine the location of the North Star, the constellations, and planets.
