CCRSB students ready for regional science fairs on March 29th & 30th
Over 230 students, grades 4-12, from across the Chignecto-Central Regional School Board will compete for prizes and the chance to move on to the Canada Wide Science Fair (CWS) at two regional fairs on March 29th and 30th.
Participating students are separated into four categories:
- Elementary – grades 4-6
- Junior – grades 7-8
- Intermediate – grades 9-10
- Senior – grades 11-12
The Chignecto-West Regional Science Fair welcomes students from schools in south, west and east Colchester County, the Municipality of East Hants and Cumberland County west of Highway 104 including Amherst.
March 29th: Judging for all participants
Participants: 124 students, 93 projects, representing 13 schools.
Location: DAL-AC Campus, 62 Cumming Dr., Truro
Time: Judging begins at 9:00 am and concludes at 2:00 pm for elementary students; 3:00 pm for all other participants.
March 30th: Public viewing from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Fair participants and visiting Grade 4 and Grade 6 classes will have the opportunity to complete interactive demonstrations offered by DAL-AC representatives. The Grade 1 / 2 class from Elmsdale Elementary will also build and demonstrate their life-size Angry Birds game model.
The Chignecto East Regional Science Fair welcomes students from schools in Pictou County, north Colchester County and Cumberland County east of Highway 104, except Amherst.
March 30th: Judging for all participants.
Participants: 110 students, 85 projects, representing 11 schools.
Location: Nova Scotia Community College, Pictou Campus, 39 Acadia Ave, Stellarton
Time: Judging will take place from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
March 31st: Public viewing from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm & Awards ceremony from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm
