Kennetcook District Elementary answers the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge!

CCRSB News - September 22, 2014 - Kennetcook District Elementary recently answered the challenge from Maitland District Elementary School and completed the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge! Students gathered on the school lawn to cheer on staff as they one-by-one poured a bucket of water over their head. Click here to watch the video. 

Dr. W.A. MacLeod Consolidated 'Pinky Swears' to Stand Up and Speak Out

CCRSB News - September 22, 2014 - In honour of   Stand Up. Speak Out. Stop Bullying. Together. on September 18th, over 500 students and staff members at Dr. W.A. MacLeod Consolidated created a piece of artwork while promising to Stand Up and Speak Out against bullying behaviour. The particpants "pinky swore' to work against bullying by using their fingerprints to represent leaves on a large tree.

West Colchester Consolidated School closing due to road conditions

CCRSB News - September 22, 2014 - Classes at West Colchester Consolidated School are being cancelled today due to poor road conditions and wash outs. Parents are being contacted and buses are returning students home. Classes will proceed as normal at Great Village Elementary School. Parents or guardians with questions may call the Cobequid Family of Schools Office at 902-896-5737.

CCRSB is NOT afraid to Stand Up and Speak Out

CCRSB News – September 19, 2014 – Schools and offices across the Chignecto-Central Regional School Board (CCRSB) came out in full force on September 18 to launch the second year of  Stand Up. Speak Out. Stop Bullying. Together. This year’s regional kick-off event was hosted by North Nova Education Centre (NNEC) and live streamed for all CCRSB schools and offices to watch. (You can view the video here.) Almost 24,000 students, staff and elected members participated.

It’s finally here: Stand Up. Speak Out. 2014, We are not afraid!!

CCRSB News - September 18, 2014 - Today, almost 24,000 students, staff and board members across the Chignecto-Central Regional School Board (CCRSB) will kick-off the second year of conversations and actions to address bullying, and promote healthy relationships. CCRSB has received over 150 submissions for the “We are not afraid” campaign and we can’t wait to share them with the world!
 
 
From Uniacke to Advocate, our students and staff are standing up against bullying and showing us – through their words, their actions and their creativity – that they are not afraid to be kind, to be themselves, to help each other and to speak out when they see bullying happen.
